Christina Jones


Classes are taught by Christina Jones. Her Yoga Alliance 200 hour qualification is recognised internationally and she qualified in 2006. She was trained in London by Dr. Elena Voyce of Teach Yoga, who for many years worked closely with Shiva Rea. Christina trained in 2008 to teach pregnancy and mother & baby yoga with The British Wheel of Yoga, under the tutelage of Judy Cameron, a yoga teacher and midwife of 25 years experience, and Wendy Teasdil, author of Yoga for Pregnancy.

Always eager to learn and experience more on the path of true yoga, in 2010 Christina discovered and embraced the classical teachings of the Krishnamacharya lineage which have breathed new life into her teaching and her own personal practice.

Christina has recently completed a further 1,000 hours of training in yoga teaching and yoga therapy. The TSYP course, led by Colin Dunsmuir, a direct student of TKV Desikachar, is the longest and most accredited course that exists in the U.K, and is rooted in traditionally pure, authentic yoga and Ayurveda practices. Her training in yoga and yoga therapy with her mentor is ongoing.

‘I trained as a dancer for nearly ten years and initially began practising yoga as a source of relief from lower back pain and anxiety. Upon finding that the first few classes left me feeling like I had never done before, I started to learn more about yoga, and began to realize and benefit from the life enhancing gifts the ancient practice has to offer us. The anxiety became much easier to control, I felt calmer and more relaxed from day to day and the niggling lower back pain disappeared. Being someone with a very overactive mind, the fatigue and uneasiness I often experienced as a result of this became a rarity rather than an everyday problem.

Happier, healthier and more at one with myself and others, my life has been so enhanced by yoga that I made the decision to train as a teacher to be able to share and enjoy the experience with as many people as possible. And I love it! It is a privilege and a joy to witness yoga improving the health, happiness and quality of life of my students.
